Talk freely about Mental Health.

mental health, depression

I like to help people and have gone out of my ways to help them. There is a different level of contentment in helping people. I have seen I have a lot to share and I do that with various like-minded tribes, friends, family circles, especially when these circles are very small ones, and most of the time they are one-to-one (a Straight line) 😛. So the topic that I want to touch upon is ‘Mental Health’.

This is the least discussed topic in friends, family, or social circle. And I feel if I am able to help even one person on the planet, that would be great. Everybody goes through mental health issues at some point in their life, I am no exception. and people generally don’t go to a therapist to seek help or don’t talk about it even with close friends, family members. Because of EGO.

Of course, at such times, people’s opinions are not helpful. Because people relate their life experiences and give advice to you. I realized that I have that empathic quality because of which people feel comfortable discussing such issues with me. and I should utilize God / Nature / Universe gifted ability to help more people. Also, over the years I have gone through numerous books, videos, discussions with experts on this topic; and now I feel I should start sharing with the world. Like a proverb that says, “ The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second-best time is now”; similarly the best time to start discussing Mental Health was years ago, the second-best time is now.

This post is just to initiate a spark in people who are looking for mental health help. And for others, do not see mental health as an issue with someone, rather give support and a helping hand to a person in need. Play your part well.

Also, as the quote in the adjoining image says, I have realized that, all the situations that we go through and “suffer” has a deep message attached with it. We just need to be open and be willing to listen what the Universe is saying to us. The beauty that will come out of it, would be even more precious. I remember what Steve Jobs said in Stanford Commencement Speech “You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”

We all love tips, at the end. So here are few that will help :

  1. Take a mini-break. Close your eyes for a minute. And just give a beautiful smile to yourself from your hectic schedule. Feel it in your heart. You are precious.
  2. Go to a therapist.
  3. Start loving the person you spend the most time with. i.e. You. Self-love is the greatest asset.
